Death of Protestors over Sabarimala Protests… Kerala Having a Shutdown!
TRIVANDRUM: An organization that has been protesting the allowance to the entrance of two women in the Sabarimala Temple has called a shutdown in Kerala. This has happened after a wave of violence took place with the throwing of stones in several regions of the state. Despite the verdict given by the Supreme Court which allows women to enter inside the Sabarimala temple, this organization decided to start protests against the order and the allowance.
Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Holding the shutdown to the entry of women into the temple equivalent to shutdown or hartal against the verdict that has been given by the Supreme Court itself.
The violence started in Kerala on Wednesday right after two women below 50 entered the shrine. During the clashes and violence, a man who was injured died on Wednesday night. The shutdown being supported by the BJP was called by Sabarimala Karma Samithi. A member of the Samithi; Chandan Unnithan aged 55 was also injured in the clash. He was brutally injured due to a stone that hit his head. It is reported that he too died at the hospital.
Kerala police’s spokesperson Pramod Kumar informed that one of the deceased was a part of the BJP demonstration. He also informed that at least 15 more people were injured due to the wave of violence that took place.
