Deputy CM offers assistance to accident victims, kin of deceased
Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on Sunday met with accident victims under treatment at various government and private hospitals in the district and offered them financial assistance.
Three persons were killed and 14 injured in a recent accident, involving a jeep carrying labourers to a coconut grove, at Devadhanapatti. The Deputy CM met survivors of the accident in hospital and kin of the deceased at Manjalar Dam village. He gave them baskets of fruits and financial aid.
Similarly, seven persons were killed and 16 injured in an accident involving a jeep that carried 23 persons from Meenakshipuram, Thoppupatti and Pannaithoppu villages for working in cardamom estates in Kerala.
Mr. Panneerselvam visited the victims and offered them words of solace, apart from financial aid. He advised the doctors to attend to the needs of the patients.
Cumbum MLA S.T.K. Jakkaiyan and former Theni MPs S.P.M. Syed Khan and R. Parthiban were present during the visit.
