Students rescued through emergency windows after Gujarat school bus gets stuck in rain
A bus in Gujarat’s Nadiad got stuck in a drain on Saturday morning as heavy rain lashed the city. Students aboard the bus had to escape the bus through windows to avoid falling in the drain below.
Heavy rain lashed the city of Nadiad in Gujarat on Saturday morning, causing floods in several areas. Due to the floods, a college bus got stuck in a drain in Nadiad’s Kheda, making it difficult for students aboard to step out.
According to the details, the bus was passing through a drain filled with rainwater when it got stuck.
Students aboard the bus were forced to evacuate through the windows to avoid the drain water.
Videos showed locals coming to the aid of the students and rescuing them.
Last weekend, several parts of north Gujarat witnessed heavy rainfall due to a depression, the remnant of cyclonic storm Biparjoy, causing a flood-like situation in many villages of Banaskantha district, officials said on Monday.
Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall near Jakhau on the Kutch coast in Gujarat on June 15, felling several trees and electric poles and damaging houses.
