‘Sudden’ shutdown of power generation at Kudankulam first nuclear reactor
Power generation at Kudankulam’s first nuclear reactor suddenly stopped yesterday. A thousand megawatts of power generation has been affected due to this.
Tirunelveli Valliyur: 2 nuclear reactors with a capacity of 1000 megawatts each have been constructed in Kudangulam, Radhapuram taluka of Nellai district and power generation is underway. A technical fault suddenly occurred yesterday morning at 8.15 a.m. while the first reactor was producing 1,000 megawatts of electricity.
As a result, power generation was stopped immediately. A thousand megawatts of power generation has been affected due to this. Scientists and technical experts are busy in the process of rehabilitating Paludin. It is noteworthy that the 2nd reactor is producing 1,000 MW of electricity.
