The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Andhra Pradesh Police has taken a significant step in the ongoing investigation of the Rs 114-crore AP Fibernet Scam case. On Friday, the CID filed a chargesheet in the Vijayawada ACB Court, naming TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu as the main accused.

In addition to Naidu, the CID has named V Hari Krishna Prasad, managing director of Net India, Hyderabad, and K Sambasiva Rao, IRTS officer, as the other accused persons, according to a statement issued by the CID.

The chargesheet alleges that Naidu, who was the Chief Minister at the time, held portfolios related to energy, infrastructure, and investment department. The CID claims that he personally recommended the execution of the fiber net project, implicating him in the alleged tender manipulation case that transpired between 2014 and 2019.

The CID’s move comes after extensive investigations into the intricate details of the Fibernet case, which has been under scrutiny for its alleged irregularities and misappropriation of funds
