Mammootty’s Bramayugam Excels at Box Office, Surpasses Kaathal with Rs 5.6 Crore Collection
Mammootty’s latest venture, Bramayugam, continues to captivate audiences as it maintains a strong grip on the box office, earning over Rs 5.6 crore within its first two days of release. The horror film, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has engaged viewers with its unique storyline and captivating performances.
On its opening day, Bramayugam made an impressive debut, garnering Rs 3.1 crore at the box office. The momentum carried through to the second day, with the film collecting an additional Rs 2.5 crore, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.
Notably, Bramayugam’s performance surpasses Mammootty’s previous critically acclaimed film, Kaathal – The Core, which earned Rs 1.25 crore on its second day. The success of Bramayugam underscores the audience’s enthusiasm for the black-and-white period horror genre, a refreshing departure from conventional cinema.
The film witnessed maximum turnout during night shows, boasting a remarkable 72.65 percent occupancy. Evening shows followed closely with 51 percent occupancy, while afternoon and morning shows recorded 36.83 percent and 26.92 percent occupancy, respectively.
During a press meet in the UAE, Mammootty shed light on the decision to film Bramayugam in black and white, citing its suitability for the storyline set in a period predating cinema’s invention. He emphasized the film’s experimental nature, resonating with audiences seeking innovative cinematic experiences.
Starring Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz, and Manikandan R Achari in pivotal roles, Bramayugam is a collaborative effort between Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios.
