Vande Bharat Deepavali Special: Chennai to Tirunelveli Journey

In anticipation of the bustling Deepavali festivities, the Southern Railway has unveiled a special Vande Bharat train service from Chennai to Tirunelveli. This dedicated train, equipped with an executive chair car and seven chair cars, aims to accommodate the surge in travelers during the festive season in southern districts.

Schedule and Route Details

The Vande Bharat train (Car No. 06067) will embark on its journey from Chennai Egmore at 6 am on November 9th, reaching Tirunelveli at 2.15 pm. For the return journey, the train will depart Tirunelveli at 3 pm and arrive at Chennai Egmore by 11.15 pm. Along the way, the train will make stops at Tambaram, Villupuram, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, and Virudhunagar railway stations, ensuring convenient access for passengers.

Additional Special Train: Tambaram to Nagercoil

In addition to the Chennai-Tirunelveli route, another Deepavali special train (Train No. 06061) will operate from Tambaram to Nagercoil on Fridays, specifically on the 10th, 17th, and 24th of November. Departing Tambaram at 07:30 PM, it will reach Nagercoil at 07:10 AM the following day. The train will stop at key stations, including Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Virudhachalam, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, and Valliyur.

Bookings Now Open

Travelers can now book their seats on these special trains, providing a welcome solution for those who missed out on regular train bookings, which were fully sold out several months ago. With the addition of these special Vande Bharat services, the Southern Railway aims to ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience for all passengers during the festive season in Tamil Nadu’s southern districts.
